Dawson Coop Clinton Street Renovations

Completed 2010

Arkadelphia, Ar.

Dawson Education Cooperative is an organization that provides twenty-four school districts a learning and support co op. This client holds superintendent conferences, learning seminars, and board meetings at their facilities.

The co-op needed office spaces as well as a large conference room for meetings.  Located in historic downtown Arkadelphia, the existing space (a vacant service station) had historic elements that we wanted to preserve while incorporating new visions with a modern day edge; reused metal ceiling tiles and border pieces that existed are combined with recreated trim pieces and modern storefront windows to complement the historic proportions of the context.  A paved corner parking area was re-imagined as a new semi-public pedestrian courtyard and focal area that connects the facility with the community.
